Helen is Managing Director of SimplifyHR. Helen has significant sector and international experience in HR, People Management and Training.
In 2016, Helen set up SimplifyHR. Helen prides herself on being practical in nature, able to simplify the most complex issues while at all times supporting businesses to have more confidence in their own ability to manage people.
Helen has had a well rounded career in HR, Employment Law and training. She was Vice President of HR for Lake Region Medical, setting HR strategy and advising senior leaders across Europe, Asia and the US. As Regional Director for IBEC in Cork she supported and represented employers in all business sectors across all aspects of HR, union negotiations, change management and legal representation. She has worked directly in IT, manufacturing, hospitality and education. Helen is a chartered fellow of CIPD.
Business priorities are at the heart of everything Helen does, she puts her energies and expertise into doing the right thing for your business.
Colette Downes is a HR Coordinator at SimplifyHR. Colette supports our cross-industry client base to ensure the highest standard of HR service delivery through her structured and company focused approach.
Colette started on her HR journey at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada. Serving departments of over 1000 staff, in multi-unionized departments such as IT, Sports and Recreation, Hotel and Conferences, Student Services etc, she earned a wealth of knowledge and experience in recruitment, performance management, training and development, advising on employee issues and HR processes. Colette is methodical in her approach and brings a logical and balanced approach to her stakeholders.
Colette holds a HR Management certification from The British Columbia Institute of Technology in Canada. Since returning from Canada, Colette has further grown her HR career and nurtured her skills by providing people focused HR and Recruitment support to multinational companies to achieve their business goals through effective people planning.
Colette excels the areas of customer relationship management and invests valuable time in building long lasting relationships with the people and clients that she supports.
HR Services Manager
Katie Murphy is an experienced Human Resources professional, CIPD qualified, with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Management from Waterford Institute of Technology and a Diploma in Employment Law from the Law Society of Ireland.
Katie specialises in performance management, employment law compliance, recruitment and selection and training and development.
Katie strengths lie in relationship cultivation and development and the ability to connect and communicate with key stakeholders. Prior to joining SimplifyHR, Katie has spent over five years working in the area of HR Consultancy and outsourced HR and brings with her a wealth of stakeholder management experience.
HR Services Manager
Avril is an experienced HR professional who has spent much of her career in multi-national business environments. In addition to this, she contributes strong business acumen and entrepreneurial skill sets from her time in self-employment.
Avril began her career in the fast-paced management consulting environment in Accenture and later moved into the pharmaceutical industry in Novartis, Dublin and most recently in Sanofi, Waterford.
Avril is passionate about people potential and has successfully developed and implemented best practice leadership development, performance management and talent management programmes. Qualified in employment law, Avril partners with organisations to realise their strategic goals through their people.
HR Services Manager
Siobhán is an experienced HR practitioner with extensive experience in employee relations, people development and project management.
As HR Services Manager, Siobhán is involved in all aspects of customer support, service delivery and training. Siobhán, who is from an agribusiness background, started her career in the healthcare sector where she had the opportunity to work with a wide range of disciplines.
In more recent times Siobhán worked in a busy manufacturing environment with sites worldwide. She contributed to a number key global HR, Training and HRIS projects while leading the day to day activities of a busy HR Department. She is a lean HR expert and uses her skills to simplify issues, processes and systems which adds value to our customers.
Siobhán completed her BBS and MBS in the University of Limerick and is a chartered member of CIPD.
Head of Finance
Ray is our finance and accounting expert
Based in our Cork office, Ray’s role is Head of Finance. With a BComm from UCC, he completed his accountancy training with Deloitte. Ray has experience in Agribusiness, Enterprise Information Management, Hospitality and investment. As an experienced financial controller, he provides support and advice to customers on accounting and payroll processes, systems and shared services.
JJ has a solid understanding of project management and the practicality in how businesses work.
JJ’s undergraduate qualification was in software and he later returned to education and completed his MBA in UCC. He has strong people leadership skills and experience in managing teams. He has a solid business acumen across key finance, sales & marketing, IT, training and project management. Has held roles in the IT, hospitality, investment and retail sectors.
Based in our Cork office, JJ’s role as Commercial Manager involves all aspects of project management, customer requirements and support.
